This web site provides a growing wealth of information on Hawaii's story for your education and inspiration. We have arranged two approaches to Hawaii's story as thematic guides for your quest through the pages of history.
Among AlohaQuest's educational offering is our web site following the current Arbitration of Lance Paul Larsen vs. The Hawaiian Kingdom at the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
Transcripts of key pre-recorded segments from the live six-hour December 19, 1999, AlohaQuest educast at Iolani Palace share compelling perspectives on Hawaii's past, present and future.
Follow Hawaii's story through our guided tour of the "Apology Resolution" (U.S. Public Law 103-150), which was signed into law by President Clinton in 1993, apologizing for the United States' involvement in the illegal overthrow of the independent Kingdom of Hawaii, and giving a chronological overview of important events. We have created a presentationn of the Apology which places each "whereas clause" on one page, accompanied by related images with quotes from - and links to - segments of the AlohaQuest event narrative and primary source documents, to help bring history alive and provide interpretation and understanding for this momentus law.
You can also dive right in and explore our hyper-linked primary source archive, which includes many of Hawaii's most significant historical documents, along with news articles, legal interpretations and links to relevant international laws.
