Re: Larsen v. Hawaiian Kingdom, Arbitral Proceedings, Permanent Court of Arbitration
Dear Ninia:
Our office contacted Phyllis Hamilton, Deputy Secretary General, at the Permanent Court of Arbitration on December 7, 1999. We asked her if she had received your "First Amendment to Notice of Arbitration", and she confirmed receipt of same.
She stated that she is still working on a list of potential arbitrators pursuant to our earlier request to her. She advised that her office would draw up a list of qualified individuals, then contact same to determine if they are interested in serving; thereafter, would notify our office after such inquiry has been completed of those both qualified and willing to serve. She was not specific as to timeframe when she would get back to us. As such, we are patiently waiting for Ms. Hamilton to re-contact us with information so that we can begin our analysis.
We will keep the parties posted. Thank you for your kind attention.
